Our Vision:
Chi Alpha Campus Ministries (XA) is a student movement on colleges and universities throughout the world. We’re a network of Christian ministries that looks a little different on every campus – but here’s what you’re always sure to find: students who are hungry for God that are impacting the campus, community and the world.
What does "Chi Alpha" mean, you may ask? It comes from the original Greek translation from the New Testament, in 2 Corinthians 5:20:"we are therefore Christ's (Chi) Ambassadors (Alpha)." We often abbreviate our name as XA.
The EIU chapter of Chi Alpha was launched in the fall of 2015 by Mark & Jenn Bettinger, and is now primarily led by Peyton Hayes, EIU XA alumni.
We meet on Tuesday evenings during the school year at 7pm in the Honors College (next to Pemberton Hall) and host various other events and special activities throughout the week.
As we often say, we're not a fraternity- we're a family!
