We are passionate about helping all of the international students from the 57 nations on campus feel welcome. We often partner with AIS (the Association of International Students http://castle.eiu.edu/~eiuais/) for events. We host these events either at Mark & Jenn's home or in Pemberton Hall at 8pm. And they're free!

What can you expect at an international student event?  You can expect food, culture and fun! We invite different international student groups on campus (Africa, India, Latin America, China etc.) to share with us about their culture with a presentation, song, dance or anything they choose. Chi Alpha pays for the ingredients and we have the students cook an awesome ethnic meal for everyone. There are often games with prizes and fun had by all.

Mark and Jenn and their family lived in Africa a few years back so they understand what it's like to be far away from friends and family. They love to host students in their home and they love to introduce international students to American culture.

Throughout the years, Chi Alpha has hosted many different types of international events on campus and in the community. Here's a few snapshots of the events we've recently hosted.
